Cellfina™ Cellulite Treatment

Dr. Stompro and Dr. Cheng’s office is proud to offer our clients Cellfina™, the only FDA-cleared treatment proven to improve the appearance of cellulite on the buttocks and thighs for up to three years.

To fully understand how Cellfina works to improve the appearance of cellulite, it’s helpful to understand how cellulite forms on the body. Cellulite is created when fibrous bands pull the skin down, creating pockets. These pockets then fill up with fat, creating a dimpled effect. As we age, our skin becomes thinner, and the pockets underneath the skin become more apparent, creating the appearance of cellulite.

Cellfina works by addressing the underlying cause of cellulite: the fibrous bands that create the dimples. By treating those bands directly and allowing them to release, Cellfina restores a smooth and contoured appearance to the buttocks and thighs.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Cellfina?

Cellfina is the only FDA-cleared minimally invasive procedure clinically proven to improve the appearance of cellulite up to three years. Performed by a qualified physician in an office setting, Cellfina combines proven and innovative technologies to clear the underlying cause of cellulite on the thighs and buttocks.

How does the Cellfina™ work?

The Cellfina™ System treats the connective bands woven throughout the fat that pull down the skin, creating dimpling seen on the skin’s surface. Cellfina works by precisely treating these tethered bands, encouraging them to fray and finally fully release. Similar to a rubber band under tension, once released, the treated skin bounces back to smooth itself out in as little as three days.

How long does it last?

Patients in the FDA-approved study showed significant improvement after just one treatment, lasting up to three years.

Are there any side effects?

There have been no serious adverse events associated with Cellfina. The most common side effects reported by patients were soreness and bruising. Over 90% of patients had no bruising at four weeks.

How long does the procedure take?

The in-office procedure takes approximately 45 minutes, depending on the individual patient and the number of areas being treated.

Will I need to take time off?

There is limited downtime associated with Cellfina. Some patients experience initial soreness and tenderness, but these side effects resolve quickly with time. Taking up to 24 hours to allow your body to recover from the procedure is often ideal, though it is not always necessary.

How much does the Cellfina treatment cost?

This is dependent on the number of cellulite dimples and other factors. Since the treatment is so personalized, the best way to get an accurate quote is to set up a free consultation.
